Martell B. Green of Layton will celebrate her 90th birthday with family members at the Chuck-A-Rama Buffet.
She was born on Jan. 8, 1924, to Christopher J. and Myrtle Robins Barnes. After the early death of her mother, she was later raised by her stepmother LaVon Webster Barnes.
She attended Davis High School.
She married Junior D. Green on Aug. 10, 1943, in Layton; their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. He died on July 22, 2007.
She worked for the Ogden Arsenal, Sierra Lingerie, Layton Sugar Factory, Davis School District and Clover Club Foods.
A member of the Emerald LDS Ward, she has served in various callings throughout the years.
Her hobbies are knitting, crocheting, making quilts and ceramics.
Her children are Norma and Bud Cox, Suzanne Flinders and Bart Green. She has six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
