Arthur D. and Sharyll Ann Louham Richards of South Ogden celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a dinner party and an overnight adventure with their family at Brighton Chalets.
He joined the U.S. Army in January 1960, which eventually took him to Alaska in 1963. She graduated from Utah State University and found herself seeking an adventure, heading to Alaska to teach school in 1962.
They met there and began their journey together, marrying on Jan. 10, 1964.
They were a military family and raised their family across the nation. When he retired from the military, they brought their family to Utah.
Their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple on June 4, 1984.
Their children and spouses are Dori and Earl Clark, Dave Richards, and Duane and Hallie Richards. They have four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
