BRIGHAM CITY -- The Brigham City Area Chamber of Commerce's annual bash is set for Friday to honor local luminaries.
The 2013 honorees this year include former Box Elder County Commissioner Royal K. Norman as Total Citizen of the Year and mortician Brent M. Gillies for Business Person of the Year.
The awards were voted on by the chamber's 330 members. This year's gathering Friday, Jan. 17, at the Adele C. Young Intermediate School, 830 Law Drive, in Brigham, begins with a 6 p.m. social before the 6:30 p.m. banquet and program.
Tickets are $45 per couple and $25 single. RSVP appreciated at the chamber offices at 435-723-3931.
The Home Business of the Year nod will go to Country Way Flooring. Winners in the large, medium and small business categories are, respectively, Whitaker Construction Co., Ace Hardware and Mountain Star Canyon Surgical Clinic.
Feted as Chamber Board Member of the Year will be Jeffrey C. Scott. Karen Rustan will be honored as Chamber Ambassador of the Year.
The Brigham City Women in Business organization will present Lori Hurd with its Businesswoman of the Year award.
A live auction and a silent auction will highlight the night's festivities alone with Peach Queen entertainment.
Items to be auctioned with include one pound of candy a month from the Idle Isle restaurant, Real Salt Lake professional soccer tickets, a Samsung tablet, a year's supply of floral arrangements, and a family trampoline outing.
