OGDEN -- The Utah Department of Transportation advises motorists a shift in the location of the Interstate 15 Riverdale Road exit will occur Thursday, followed by two rescheduled I-15 closures this weekend through the Roy/Riverdale area, to facilitate work on the final phase of the reconstruction of Riverdale Road from 1900 West to I-84.
On Thursday, the Riverdale Road off-ramp from I-15 at exit 339 will be relocated to a temporary ramp constructed immediately south of its present location, to accommodate the construction of a new multi-directional off-ramp to Riverdale Road, according to a UDOT press release.
The shift of this ramp will occur Thursday by 7:30 a.m. Motorists should be alert for the shift to this location and slow down when traveling through this area.
This ramp shift will be followed on Friday by the rescheduled closures of I-15 in support of the demolition of the west-bound lanes of the bridge over I-15 at Riverdale Road.
The initial demolition on the I-15 overpass is scheduled for Friday, from 11 p.m. through Saturday at 9 a.m.
Crews will close northbound I-15 at Riverdale Road. Northbound traffic will be routed east along Riverdale Road to I-84 and then north back to I-15. The northbound ramp at 5600 South in Roy, exit 338, will also be closed during this period. Motorists should follow the marked detour route.
On Saturday, beginning at 11 p.m., southbound I-15 will close through Sunday, at 11 a.m. Southbound traffic is encouraged to exit at 31st Street, exit 341, and take Hinckley Drive west to 1900 West. Motorists will then proceed southbound to 5600 South, where they will turn east to rejoin I-15.
Southbound trucks should consider using east-bound I-84 at exit 340 to U.S. 89 , exit 87, rejoining I-15 in Farmington.
