Melvin E. and Dorothy Miller Lotz of Kaysville will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary. Family and friends may attend an open house in their honor from 6 to 8 p.m. on Jan. 31 at the LDS 4th ward chapel at 875 E. 200 North, Kaysville. No gifts.
They were married on Feb. 2, 1944, at her home in the Kaysville Bamberger Railroad Station; their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple in 1963. They met at Hill Air Force Base, where he was in the Army Air Corps, and she was employed.
He was born, raised and graduated from high school in and near Ottawa, Ill. She was born and raised in Kaysville, and graduated from Davis High School.
They have resided in Layton and Clearfield, but have lived in Kaysville for the last 53 years.
He retired after 11 years at NSD Clearfield, 23 years at HAFB and 50 years at Lagoon Amusement Park. She retired after 20 years at HAFB. They also served in the Bountiful LDS Temple for five years.
Their children and spouses are Marjorie Burton, Kaysville; Terry and Marilyn Lotz; Centerville; and Thomas and Sheila Lotz, Highland. They have 17 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren
