OGDEN -- A brief police pursuit ended without major injuries and the suspect in handcuffs Tuesday night.
The chase began at about 10:40 p.m. on the 700 block of Monroe Boulevard, Lt. Tim Scott of Ogden police said.
A patrolman observed a pickup truck traveling northbound on Monroe and weaving into oncoming traffic. He tried to pull the vehicle over, but the suspect fled and the officer engaged in a pursuit, Scott said.
The chase lasted only a few minutes and ended near 2nd Street and Gramercy Avenue. The suspect skidded off the road and into a resident's lawn where he hit a row of decorative boulders.
Allen Carter of Ogden heard the crash and went outside with his camera to find a pickup truck on his neighbor's lawn and several police vehicles surrounding the scene.
Carter said he saw the suspect on the ground in handcuffs and was walked over to the ambulance.
Scott said the suspect was treated for a cut he sustained from the crash and was released to police custody. There were no other injuries involved in the chase.
Antone Roger Clark, 34, was booked into the Weber County Jail on suspicion of DUI, evading a police officer and several other traffic violations.
