SALT LAKE CITY - Bountiful opened the 4-A girls basketball playoffs Monday with a convincing 62-37 victory over Spanish Fork.
The Braves opened the second half on a 16-0 run and held the Dons without a made field goal the entire period.
"I think it's huge, Bountiful coach Joel Burton said of the importance of getting off to a fast start in the tournament. "Let them relax. We could see nerves with quite a few of our kids and you could see them with their kids."
Bountiful sophomore Kennedy Redding finished with a team-high 13 points and added 14 rebounds and eight blocked shots.
