Milton Ray Bloomquist, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, returned peacefully to his Heavenly Father on March 3, 2014, in Syracuse, Utah.
Born July 28, 1926 in Los Angeles, California, the only child of Madelaine Gagon Bloomquist (Horrocks) and William LeRay Bloomquist. He also lived in Colorado but lived most of his adult life in Ogden and Syracuse, Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Marion, daughters; Nedra Saunders (Gary), Colleen Benson (Bryce), Katherine "Katy" Saunders (Edward), and RoseAnn Brandley (Stephen), 19 grandchildren, and 35 great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents and one great-grandchild, Kaden Parkin.
Milton served in WWII, U.S. Navy, then served a three year LDS mission in Brazil. He married Marion Johnson in 1952 in the Idaho Falls Temple and later graduated from BYU. He remained a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saintsthroughout his life and diligently fulfilled many various Churchcallings.
He enjoyed singing, playing the trombone, working in his orchard and garden, fishing, reading, studying the gospel, square dancing, and being with family and friends. He and Marion loved serving five and one half years together in the Ogden, Utah Temple.
Memorial services will be held Friday, March 7, 2014, at 3 p.m. at the Syracuse Legacy Park Stake Center, 2024 S. 1475 W. (from 2000 W. in Syracuse, turn E. onto 2175 S., then N. on 1475 W.)
Friends may visit with the family before the services, from2 - 2:45 p.m., and 20 minutes following the services. Interment at Syracuse City cemetery.
