Satch then married Virginia LaCoste in June 1986 gaining two daughters, Heidi and Jody. The two families bonded together, creating many memories that Satch was a part of.
Satch had many hobbies such as: hunting, fishing, camping and watching sports. Satch loved watching Notre Dame Football, the Green Bay Packers and the Boston Celtics. He looked forward to his annual guys fishing trips and his yearly deer hunts. As he always said, "Whathappens hunting or fishing stayed with hunting or fishing."
Satch has many grandchildren and they were all the apple of his eye. They never left Grandpa's house without a stack of quarters, or as he called it, "Ice Cream Money." All the grandkids also loved to crush cans and pick chilis with their Grandpa.
No one ever came or left Satch's house without being offered a beer or a treat. He always offered the first one after that "you were on your own" and anytime you came to visit him or called you were greeted with a "Wazzup" or "Hey Baby."
