PREP SOFTBAll: Bonneville notches big win; full roundup

Bonneville 5, Davis 3: At Kaysville, Nicole Gross smacked a two-RBI double in the top of the eighth and Bonneville held Davis off at the end, winning 5-4 Friday.

Davis scored on a sacrifice fly in the bottom of the eighth, but couldn’t do any more damage.

Bonneville led 1-0 for most of the game before Cortney Porter and Abby Toller each drilled solo home runs in the top of the sixth.

Davis scored two in the bottom of the sixth on a two-RBI double by Cali Reynolds and then tied the game in the bottom of the seventh on a sacrifice fly by Paige Reynolds.

Andy Hancock went the distance for Bonneville and allowed four hits and one walk while striking out five.

Layton 16, Ogden 3: At Ogden, Kymberly Taylor, Alanna Anderson and Riley McDonald each smacked doubles and Rae Gall plated four runs to lead Layton to a 16-3 win over Ogden Friday.

Kelle Smedley started and pitched two shutout innings for Layton.



The game ended after four innings.

Hunter 6, Northridge 4: At West Valley, Hunter scored twice in the bottom of the fourth to break a 4-4 tie and hand Northridge a 6-4 defeat Friday.

Hunter’s runs came after Northridge had just put together a three-run inning to tie the game.

Woods Cross 17, Cottonwood 6: At Woods Cross, Manni Johnson hit a walk-off home run in the bottom of the sixth to cap a seven-run inning and give Woods Cross a 17-6 victory over Cottonwood Friday.

Maddie Sorensen also homered for Woods Cross.

Woods Cross led 10-1 going to sixth, but Cottonwood rallied for five runs before Woods Cross finally ended it in the bottom half.
