Wanda Hazen Clontz celebrated her 90th birthday on March 22nd with a small family gathering.
She was born on March 18, 1924, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Robert Hazen III and Sadie Catmull Hazen. She has two sisters, Donna Collins and Barbara Wood (deceased). She attended school in Ogden, graduating from Ogden High School in 1942.
She married Lowell R. Clontz on June 8, 1943, in Ogden Utah. They were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on February 24, 1967. They were married 58 years until his death in 2001.
She worked for the Civil Service at Defense Depot Ogden and Hill Air Force Base, retiring in 1976 after 25 years of service.
She has served faithfully in many church callings, including Sunday School, Young Women and Relief Society. She and Lowell served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the office of the Ogden Utah Mission from 1990-1991.
They lived in Weber County for their entire married life, raising one daughter and two sons.
Her children and their spouses are Michael and Margie Draper, Carmel, Indiana, (serving an LDS mission in New York City); Robert and Linda Clontz, Idaho Falls, Idaho; Brad and Terri Clontz, West Haven, Utah. She has 11 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
She enjoys spending time with family and friends, reading, watching sports, sewing and spending time at the family cabin.
She currently resides at PeachTree Place Assisted Living Community in West Haven.
