Box Elder 5, Fremont 1: At Brigham City, Sadie Blacker went 4-for-4 with a double and two runs scored, and Box Elder avenged an early-season loss to Fremont with a 5-1 victory Friday.

Fremont defeated Box Elder 6-1 on March 12.

“They’ve been working really hard on their defense,” Box Elder coach Mandy Hodgson said. “And they’ve been working on team hitting. ‘You get on, I get on’ and we just kind of bat them around. We’re not waiting for that one big hit. Everybody’s just trying to do their job.”

Abbey Martin pitched a complete game for Box Elder and went 2-for-3 with a double at the plate. Kylie Jeffs also registered a double for the Bees.

Manti 9, Viewmont 7: At Bountiful, Viewmont committed nine errors on its way to a 9-7 loss to Manti Friday.

Ogden got all of its seventh-inning runs with two out.

“These games kind of help put into perspective you can hang in there with someone, battle back with someone,” Ogden coach Skylee Cypers said. “Gives them some faith in what they can do together.”
