SOUTH OGDEN - Three men are being sought by South Ogden police after they assaulted a pharmacist and stole prescription drugs and cash.
The Walgreens at 3600 South and Riverdale Road was robbed around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, a police news release said.
The suspects went to the store where one acted as a lookout while two others jumped the counter and assaulted the pharmacist. Then they forced open a locked cabinet, taking prescription pills. The clerk was forced to open the register and money was also taken.
Police Chief Darin Parke said the amount of cash taken was small and that they are working with store managers to determine what type of drugs were taken.
The suspects are described as:
- A skinny white male, in his early 20s, approximately 5'10", with sideburns. Wearing a grey jacket, blue jeans, and a light colored ball cap with a Hurley symbol on it.
- A black male, in his early to mid 20s, muscular, 6' tall wearing light colored camouflage pants, a dark hoodie, unshaven, with short hair.
- A black male, heavyset, 6' tall, early to mid 20s with short hair, wearing a white or grey jacket with a 1" red stripe running down the sleeves.
The pharmacy was forensically processed by CSI and results are pending analysis. The pharmacist was not badly injured and was said to have reacted appropriately to the situation by not resisting.
"A few bills aren't worth anyone's life," Parke said.
The suspects were violent, brazen, and methodical, leading police to believe they have experience in robbing pharmacies, the report said
"This was carefully coordinated and pre-planned," Parke said.
Anyone with information about the robbery or suspects is asked to call police dispatch at 801-629-8221.
