PREP SOCCER: Roy sneaks past Ogden; roundup

ROY 3, OGDEN 2: At Ogden, Chandler Neiswanger scored twice, including during stoppage time in the second half, to lift Roy past Ogden 3-2 Friday.

Neiswanger also scored in the first half to give Roy a 1-0 lead.

Diego Diaz evened the score two minutes into the second half, and the two teams traded goals in the final 10 minutes before stoppage time with Roy’s Connor Corgiat and Ogden’s Jaxon Clarke each scoring.

Christian Guzman assisted on Diaz’s goal and Efrain Lopez assisted on Clarke’s.

BOUNTIFUL 5, CLEARFIELD 0: At Bountiful, Nate Smith and Carsen Tinker each scored twice and Bountiful defeated Clearfield 5-0 Friday.

Smith netted the game winner Tuesday in Bountiful’s 1-0 double-overtime win over Cyprus. Both Smith and Tinker scored in each of the first and second halves Friday.

Jake Haddock scored Bountiful’s other goal.



Cole Palmer earned the shutout.

SKY VIEW 2, BONNEVILLE 1: At Smithfield, Raleigh Robinson scored in the 76th minute to push Sky View past Bonneville 2-1 Friday.

Jaden Wood also scored for Sky View, while Caio Martins scored for Bonneville. Wood and Martins each scored within three minutes of each other in the first half.

LOGAN 1, BOX ELDER 0: At Brigham City, Beto Rincon scored with 10 minutes left in regulation and Logan defeated Box Elder 1-0 Friday, pulling within a point of the Bees for the top spot in Region 5.

Alan Guadumarra earned the shutout for Logan.

Logan controls its destiny and can win the region outright with a pair of wins next week against Ogden and Sky View. Box Elder has just one game remaining.
