Harry Potter fever keeps going with 'J.K. Rowling Story' on Lifetime

Best bets

* "Masterpiece Mystery!" introduces a new detective in Aurelio Zen (Rufus Sewell), who fights crime in modern-day Italy. Tonight's episode has him chasing a killer who is on a vendetta-fueled rampage. 8 p.m. today, KUED Channel 7.

* If Gordon Ramsay can breathe new life into troubled restaurants, why can't Jon Taffer do the same for struggling nightlife venues? In the opening episode of "Bar Rescue," he attempts to save a failing biker bar located beside a strip joint. 8 p.m. today, Spike.

* In "Vegas Strip" we learn that life in Sin City isn't a fun-filled vacation for the cops who work there. This new series follows them as they deal with drunken tourists, shady drug dealers and unruly prostitutes. 8 p.m. today, truTV.

* "Magic Beyond Words: The J.K. Rowling Story" is a new docudrama that tells the story of a poor muggle (played by Poppy Montgomery) who became fabulously wealthy, thanks to some magical writing. 6 p.m. Monday, Lifetime.

* "It's Worth What?" is a new game show that blends elements of "Antiques Roadshow" with "The Price Is Right" as contestants are quizzed on the cost of collectibles. Cedric the Entertainer hosts. 7 p.m. Tuesday, KSL Channel 5.

* Yes, we're old enough to remember Henry Winkler as the oh-so-hip "Fonz." Now, he's playing a dad to Hank and Evan (Mark Feuerstein, Paulo Costanzo) on "Royal Pains" and, um, he's got a parole hearing coming up. 7 p.m. Wednesday, USA.

* OK, so we got ticked off when the judges eliminated the body-building opera singer, but there are still enough wild and weird performers to keep us glued to "America's Got Talent" as four acts advance to the Top 24. 8 p.m. Wednesday, KSL Channel 5.

* They continue to turn up the heat on "Burn Notice." The team helps a former Army sniper (Matt Lauria of "Friday Night Lights") who's looking for payback against the thugs who injured his sister. 7 p.m. Thursday, USA.

* They're still trying to figure out why people just aren't dying on "Torchwood: Miracle Day." Meanwhile, we continue to have fun watching Mekhi Phifer go ballistic. 8 p.m. Friday, Starz.

* Has it really been 10 years? While the final "Harry Potter" film plays in theaters, TV dusts off the one that started it all: 2001's "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone," a movie that struck box-office gold and made Daniel Radcliffe a bespectacled little star. 7 p.m. Saturday, KTVX Channel 4.
