WEST WEBER -- A truck and two men's part-time business went up in smoke Friday evening.
John Price was driving the Chevy pickup truck that he and his cousin Joe Meibos bought 10 months ago to go into business together. As Mulek Mobile Oil, they change oil in people's cars at their homes.
But at about 8:50 p.m., 20 gallons of it caught fire in their truck bed as the 24-year-olds were traveling east on 12th Street.
"I looked into the rearview mirror and saw flames," Meibos said. They pulled over near 4700 West and called for help as their truck was engulfed in fire.
Weber Fire District crews had the flames out in minutes.
"As soon as they got that first hose on there," the fire was quickly extinguished, said Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Lane Findlay. He and other law enforcement had to block traffic on the 4700 block of 12th Street for about 30 minutes.
Price said they have fire insurance, but he was uncertain if it would cover the hazardous materials cleanup.
The cousins are not sure about what the future of their company is. They had invested a little more than $15,000 into it.
"I was more scared than anything" that someone might get hurt if there was a large explosion, Price said. No one was injured.
As of Friday evening, firefighters were still investigating the cause of the fire.
