Man wanted for abuse of woman

SYRACUSE — Jay Wilson, 66, has a warrant out for his arrest for sexually abusing and groping a woman.

He was charged with forcible sodomy, forcible sexual abuse and sexual battery in 2nd District Court on Thursday. A warrant for Wilson’s arrest was filed the same day.

Alleged child sex abuser now faces kidnapping charge

OGDEN — A man already charged with sexually abusing a child now faces a child kidnapping charge as well.

Christopher Doutre, 26, was charged with attempted child kidnapping, a first-degree felony, in 2nd District Court on Thursday.

Man charged with abusing young girl

OGDEN — Matthew Gustafson, 19, was charged Thursday with sexually abusing a young girl.

Two charges of the forcible sexual abuse of a child were filed in 2nd District Court against the Ogden man.

Gustafson was at the home of a 9-year-old girl last Christmas when he touched her private area over the top of her clothing, according to a probable cause affidavit. The girl told her parents what happened after he left.

Dispute erupts over who will represent Stewart

 

OGDEN — A judge appointed two public defenders to represent accused police-shooter Matthew David Stewart Tuesday as prosecutors asked his paid attorney to withdraw from the case.

But Randy Richards declined to step down as the contention between him and prosecutors became clear in the hearing before 2nd District Judge Noel Hyde.

OGDEN — The man charged in a deadly shootout with police during a drug raid is scheduled for an Ogden court appearance.

Layton, state swap leasing, owning of city/justice center

LAYTON -- After 20 years of owning the building that is home to the city center and justice center, Layton has transferred ownership to the state.

The state had been leasing building space from Layton, and now the city will lease building space from the state.

OGDEN -- When you see four TV satellite vans parked outside, something's up. And it soon would be.

The vans, fitted with the telescopic "masts" to hoist satellite transmitters in the air, were parked in front of 2nd District Court in Ogden at 8 a.m. Wednesday.

Adult Roy bomb plot suspect makes court appearance

OGDEN — Dallin Todd Morgan made his first court appearance Wednesday since being charged with possession of a weapon of mass destruction in what authorities say was a plot to bomb Roy High School.
