Suspect arrested in sex abuse case

NORTH OGDEN -- A 21-year-old Ogden man was arrested after police say he sexually abused his girlfriend's daughters.

Chace Burton was booked into Weber County Jail on Tuesday on suspicion of two counts of first degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child and one count of first degree felony attempted aggravated sexual abuse of a child.

North Ogden Police Officer Paul Rhoades said the arrest came as a result of allegations that Burton had sexually abused his girlfriend's 3- and 4-year-old daughters at her North Ogden residence.

The incident occurred in late October. Shortly after the abuse occurred, the girls told family members, who then notified police. The investigation was ongoing until the arrest was made. Rhoades said the abuse occurred in one isolated incident.

When questioned by a detective, Burton admitted to the abuse. Arrangements were made to turn himself in, and he was booked into the jail Tuesday without incident
