SPRINGVILLE, Utah — Utah authorities say a high school football player has died one
day after he was critically injured in an accident in the school parking
lot after practice. Police say Brandon Curtis and three teammates
were in a Jeep that rolled Tuesday morning at Springville High School.
He was taken to Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, where he died
Wednesday afternoon. The 18-year-old linebacker's parents issued a
statement asking people to pray for Curtis' friends who were also in
the Jeep when it rolled. Marks on the pavement show circular tire
marks from tight turns, and Springville police Lt. Dave Caron says it
appears the open-top Jeep was doing "doughnuts" when the crash occurred.
