PROVO, Utah -- Provo city officials say about 1,000 residents evacuated from a Provo neighborhood because of a broken natural gas pipe have been allowed to return home.
KSL-TV reported that the broken line on State Street near 1860 South forced the evacuation of about 250 homes and several businesses Thursday afternoon.
Questar Gas officials say a construction crew hit a 16-inch gas pipe while working in the area.
City officials a state residential detention facility for youth was included in the evacuations.
