ELWOOD -- Officials released the name of the 15-year-old Providence girl who died Saturday following a car accident that afternoon, as well as the names of four others in the vehicle.
Madison Kimball, who was the left-rear passenger in a white 1999 Oldsmobile Alero that, according to witnesses, failed to stop at a stop sign, was transported to Bear River Valley Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
The vehicle was traveling east on 8000 North and failed to stop at State Road 13, south of the city of Elwood, according to a release from Utah Highway Patrol. A 2006 Chevrolet Silverado pickup truck struck the car's passenger side door.
None of the occupants in the Alero were wearing their seat belts, and all were taken to Bear River Valley Hospital. Three were transported elsewhere from there.
Celena Yeates, 18, of Elwood, was sent by air ambulance to Intermountain Medical Center in Murray in critical condition. She was listed as stable Sunday, and is scheduled to have surgery either today or Tuesday.
Mckenzie Christoffersen, 16, of Hyde Park, also was listed as stable Sunday after being flown by air ambulance to Primary Children's Hospital in Salt Lake City on Saturday in critical condition with abdominal pain.
Trevor L. Madison, 17, of North Logan, was transported by ground ambulance to Primary Children's in serious condition. His status on Sunday was not available.
Hayden T. Hill, 18, of Logan, was the driver of the Alero and was released from the hospital on Saturday. Officials are looking into whether alcohol or drugs were a factor in the accident.
"I'm sure they've submitted it to the county attorney and they'll probably start reviewing it tomorrow," said Trooper Todd Johnson. "They're pursuing him (Hill) for impairment."
Richard D. Rock, 69, of Tremonton, the driver of the pickup truck, also was treated at Bear River Valley Hospital on Saturday and released, and was doing well on Sunday, according to Johnson.
