Campaign signs were stored face-down in the faculty room at Adelaide Elementary School in Bountiful, along with a note requesting staff and teachers to take the campaign signs and post them in their yards. A person requesting anonymity sent this photo of the upright signs to the Standard-Examiner, and the Utah State Office of Education received two anonymous phone calls Tuesday about the signs.

Campaign signs in Davis school's faculty room violated policy, say officials

BOUNTIFUL — Campaign election signs for three candidates running for school board positions were inappropriately stored in at least one elementary school, said Christopher Williams, the Davis School District’s communication director.

The campaign signs for incumbent school board members Barbara Smith and Jim Clark, as well as Kathie Bone, a retired elementary school director, were stored, according to Williams, face-down in a corner of the faculty room at Adelaide Elementary in Bountiful for about two weeks.

Beacon installed to ensure safety of pedestrians crossing U.S. 89 in North Salt Lake

NORTH SALT LAKE -- A HAWK in the sky is making it safer for Adelaide Elementary School students to walk to school.

At the request of the school and North Salt Lake City, the Utah Department of Transportation recently installed a new High Intensity Activated Crosswalk, or "HAWK," beacon at the intersection of U.S. 89 and 800 West in North Salt Lake.
