Election interlocal agreements OK’d

OGDEN — The Weber County Commission has granted the request for approval of the interlocal agreements between the commission and 15 municipalities, plus the Ogden City School District, for the 2013 special, primary and general elections.

Pleasant View approves land agreements

PLEASANT VIEW -- Council members unanimously approved agreements for right of way property purchases following a closed meeting recently.

Property owned by the Watson family, Schoonmaker family, Karen Downs and Janna Vail as well as the Carver family were all approved. All the property is on 600 West and the city is purchasing portions of right of ways to make way for the upcoming widening of the street. The council also approved an agreement for right of way purchase with Tri Terra West.

West Point renews sewer agreements

WEST POINT -- West Point City and Clinton City have two inter-local agreements for sewer connections.

One agreement allows West Point city residents along 1300 West to connect to Clinton city’s sewer lines. This agreement began in 1978 and included a fee for $2 per home per month. The second agreement began in 2001 and allows Clinton city residents living in a 40 acre area near 1500 West and 800 North to connect to West Point city’s sewer and storm drain services. This also contained a $2 fee per home per month.

Both agreements needed to be redrafted due to fee increases. The fees will be in alignment with other residents throughout both cities.

Settlement helps homeless vets

OGDEN -- A Detroit-based charity has provided $8,500 to an Ogden homeless veterans organization as part of a settlement agreement with the state.

Farr West accepts golf course easement

FARR WEST -- Council members voted unanimously to accept an easement from Remuda Golf Course that will basically guarantee the property will not be subdivided for homes to be built on.

LDS Church, China reach agreement

SALT LAKE CITY -- The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints announced Monday that its members in China will be able to live their religion openly and comfortably while keeping their lives in accordance with Chinese law.
