VFW gives new flag to students at Roy Elementary School

ROY -- Saying the Pledge of Allegiance was extra special for Roy Elementary students on Friday afternoon as they gathered around a crisp, colorful new U.S. flag waving on the flagpole in front of the school.

Children's choir to sing at Veterans Day flag-raising ceremony in Riverdale

RIVERDALE -- The Riverdale Veterans Committee is planning a flag-raising ceremony at 9 a.m. Friday. The Good Foundations Academy children's choir will perform, followed by light refreshments. Flag retirement ceremony planned

OGDEN -- Ogden's Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 1481 has joined with Leavitt's Mortuary in Memorial Day weekend ceremonies that include a ceremony for retiring American flags.

Anyone wishing to properly retire a flag may drop it off at the VFW Post, 907 W. 12th St., or at Leavitt's Mortuary, 838 36th St.

VFW Post schedules flag retirement day

BRIGHAM CITY -- The Veterans of Foreign War Post 1695 will hold a flag retirement ceremony at 4 p.m. April 16 at which the post will demonstrate the proper disposal of old, worn-out flags. Approximately 200 flags will be burned according to proper procedures.
