Ann Romney: 'It was the media's fault'

WASHINGTON — One hundred seventeen days later, Mitt Romney still isn’t over it.

Making his first public comments since losing last November’s presidential election, Romney appeared mystified still that the country didn’t see things his way. He went on the attack against President Barack Obama during a wide-ranging interview on “Fox News Sunday,” as if the Republican hadn’t lost a beat since giving his last stump speech.

Who will be the next Romney to run?

Mitt Romney’s political career is over, but it didn’t take long for the Romney family to be a part of the political dialogue again.

Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney's wife says her husband will not run again if this race doesn't turn out the way they hope. Ann Romney told ABC's "The View" Thursday that it was "a very hard thing" to put her family through another White House bid after he lost the 2008 Republican primary. She said she agreed because she feels her husband can bring economic prosperity to America, but they "absolutely" will not do it again if he loses. (AP Photo/Chris Schneider, File)

Horse lawsuit records show another side to Ann Romney

It was the end of a long day in a stuffy Simi Valley office building. Ann Romney had been under oath for more than four hours, testifying in a sometimes contentious deposition about a pricey horse she sold that may or may not have been afflicted with a condition that made him unrideable.

In the airless room, Romney was getting annoyed.

"That really is -- that really is irritating," she said when the opposing attorney implied she didn't know who looked after her horse in Moorpark, Calif., when she was at her home in Boston. "Of course I know who was looking after my horse. You're just trying to irritate me."

Few have more influence on the world than mothers

"His wife has actually never worked a day in her life."

What person would say such a stereotypical, chauvinist statement about a stay-at-home mother of five? An unmarried, sexist working man, commenting in ignorance? Sadly, no, but another woman, political pundit Hilary Rosen, who made the comment in regard to Ann Romney.

Two out of three voters still don’t know the wife of the presumptive Republican presidential nominee. But her profile is growing as Mitt Romney moves into the general election against President Barack Obama. She was a stay-at-home mother of five boys. She bakes cookies. And, at 63, she has 16 grandchildren who call her "Mamie." But don’t be fooled: Republicans and Democrats alike see Ann Romney as an effective political weapon. (AP Photo/Steven Senne, File)
