Beryl R. and Beverly K. Taylor Young of Brigham City celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at their daughter's home in Roy on July 2.
They were married on July 2, 1960, at The Threshold in Ogden. Their vows were later solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.
He was born in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Ralph and Violet Young. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School in 1959 and joined the U.S. Marine Corps. He worked for the Internal Revenue Service and Hercules and retired from ATK. He has held several positions in the LDS Church. He belonged to the Davis and Cache County Sheriff's Posse. He has had a lifetime interest in vintage cars and belonged to Hustler, Staggs and Bonneville Car clubs. He won several trophies for his refurbished 1949 Mercury.
She was born in Ogden to Mona Nye Lewis and Robert E. Taylor and graduated from Ben Lomond High School. She worked for the IRS for 12 years. She belonged to Boots 'n' Saddles for seven years. She is active in Relief Society and has held several church callings. She enjoyed traveling with her husband to show her 1962 Bonneville convertible they restored. She looks forward to becoming a full-time RV'er and traveling the United States.
Their children and spouses are Shawna and Chuck Hulse, Nashville, Tenn.; Tracy and Jeff Gorder, West Point; Rhonda and Tim Hunter, Providence; Darcie and Craig Newbold, Roy; Natalie M. Young, Ogden; Chayse and Ashlee Young, Brigham City; and Tyson and Chantelle Young, Layton. They have 12 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
