Jerry and Dixie Fishburn

Jerry and Dixie Fishburn of Layton celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner at the Maddox Restaurant & Steak House in Brigham City.

They were married on Aug. 18, 1960, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.

He graduated from Ogden High School, Weber State College and Brigham Young University with a degree in education. He had a lifelong career at Clearfield High School, teaching history, civics, business and advanced placement classes. He served in many church and civic callings.

Raised in Clearfield, she graduated from Davis High School. She spent her younger years helping her parents on the dairy farm. She then raised her three children. She later worked in education and banking. She enjoys quilting and volunteer work with her many friends at McKay-Dee Hospital.

Their three children and their spouses are Kelly and Jennifer Fishburn, Syracuse; Rob and Tracie Smith, Kaysville; and Lane and Alecia Fishburn, Kaysville. They enjoy watching their 13 grandchildren in many activities.
