Doyle and Phyllis Smith of South Ogden will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary. A family celebration was held in their honor on July 23 and July 24.
They were married on Sept. 3, 1950, in Denver. Their vows were solemnized in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple in August 1960.
A certified public accountant, he worked at IBM in Boulder, Colo., for 22 years and taught at Weber State University. He has served in many church positions, including bishop of the South Ogden LDS 7th Ward. He has been active in Lions International for 47 years. He enjoys bowling and doing genealogy.
She is a registered nurse and has worked in Colorado and Utah. She has held many church positions and especially enjoys working with music. She also enjoys reading, sewing and making porcelain dolls.
Their children are Debbie and Bill Blick, Longmont, Colo.; Pam and Merrill Smith, Clearfield; Lisa and Bill Lewellen, Grand Junction, Colo.; Mick and Diane Smith, Springville; and Kim and Guy Nalder, Roy. They have 20 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
