Jack W. and Bonnie McDonald of Ogden will celebrate their 50th anniversary with their family on July 3.
They were married on June 30, 1961, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
She was born to Morris P. "Cap" and Thelda Williams in Oakland, Calif. She was elected to the Ogden City Council in 1987 and served three terms. She also chaired the Weber County Democrats and the Gunn McKay Foundation. She has dedicated her time to the service of others through various church callings, raising children, community boards and service opportunities. She enjoys volunteering and contributing to the community and her family through creativity.
He was born to Claud Chase and Elvera McDonald in Talmage. He graduated from Brigham Young University and spent 42 years with the U.S. Forest Service in the Intermountain Region, retiring in 2002. He held many leadership positions such as director of program development and budget, deputy regional forester and special projects officer. His spare time has been dedicated to serving the community through church callings, Little League sports and preservation of rail heritage in Northern Utah. He chaired the Union Station Foundation 20 years. He currently fills his time volunteering for several nonprofits and doing research at the genealogical library.
They served an LDS mission at Church History in Salt Lake City.
Their children and spouses are Rik W. and Cindy McDonald, Jay W. and Christene McDonald, and Keri and Jeff Wilde. They say that they are most proud of their 12 grandchildren.
