Ogden couple celebrates 70 years

Odell and Helen Smith of Ogden will celebrate their 70th wedding anniversary today, June 26.

They were married June 26, 1941, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.

He was raised in Fisheaven, Idaho; and she was raised in Montpelier, Idaho. They have called Ogden home for more than 60 years.

After he retired from Hill Air Force Base, and she retired from Smith's Food King, they enjoyed working summers at Yellowstone National Park. They have also enjoyed spending summers at Bear Lake and winters in St. George. Activities they have enjoyed together include traveling, playing golf, bowling and rooting for the Utah Jazz.

Their children and spouses are Michael and Judy Smith, South Weber; and Penny and Bud Toliver, Ogden. They have eight grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren with one more on the way.
