Blaine and Launa Barrow of Harrisville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on June 16.
They were married on June 16, 1961, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Mound Fort church. Their vows were later solemnized, and they were sealed to their children in the Ogden LDS Temple on June 16, 1973.
He was born on Feb. 10, 1941, in Ogden to Edward and Maude Barrow. He graduated from Ben Lomond High School. At age 14, he began working for Stop and Shop, where he retired as the produce manager after 48 years. He has held many church callings, including bishop of the Harrisville LDS 4th Ward.
She was born on April 8, 1942, in Ogden to Carl and Louise Hodson. She graduated from Weber High School. She was a stay-at-home mom until the children were in school. She worked at McKay-Dee Hospital as a delivery technician, for Dr. Scott Swift as a receptionist and in the health department of Kimberly Clark. She served as president of the Relief Society and the Primary, Primary teacher and as a visiting teacher.
They enjoy camping and fishing with their family and friends, taking their sports cars to car shows, and watching and supporting their grandchildren in school and sporting activities.
Their children and spouses are Tammy Barrow (deceased at birth), Troy and Mandy Barrow, Curtis and Sheri Mitchell, Jon and Deann Moss, and Mikel and Marci Barrow. They have 17 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
