Roger and Karen Bigler

Roger and Karen Bigler of South Ogden celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on July 9 at a family dinner party. To celebrate, the couple previously took a cruise to Disneyland in the spring.

They were married on July 14, 1961, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple.

He was born in Salt Lake City and raised in Ogden, graduating from Ben Lomond High School. He served an LDS mission to the Great Lakes. He enjoyed careers in the motel, farming and automobile industries. He has also enjoyed singing with others for the past 55 years.

She was born in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School, Weber College and Utah State University with a degree in elementary education. She taught for 25 years, between raising their children, retiring from the Weber School District in 2005.

They enjoy family and friends, travel, church service, music and their season passes to Disneyland.

Their three children and spouses are Lisa and Bill Galbraith, Brad and DaNae Bigler, and Darcy and Nolan Carter. They have 11 grandchildren and one new great-grandchild.
