Blair P. Dahl of West Point will celebrate his 80th birthday today, March 21. A family dinner was held in honor of the occasion.
He was born on March 21, 1930, in West Point to John Walter Dahl and Etta May Paice.
He married Susan Ilene Moore on June 22, 1950, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple.
He was born on the family farm and worked the same farm most of his life. He was a member of many farm organizations. He served as president of Davis County and Utah State Young Farmers and president of Davis County Farm Bureau. He was active in Weber County Beef Feeders and Davis County ASC committee. He sold cattle to many people and counseled others in raising cattle. He also worked for Davis County School District for 25 years driving a school bus.
An active member of the LDS Church, he served in many positions. He is a supporter of youth groups, civic events and West Point. The future park on part of his farm will be named the Blair Dahl Park.
He enjoys music and has shared his deep bass voice in solos and groups all his life. He was a member of the Mormon Tabernacle Choir for nine years and is still an active member of the Men of Song. He and his wife have enjoyed travel with the choir, farm groups and spending time with friends and family.
His children and their spouses are Susan and Boyd Kelley, Sharon and Kelly Roe, Shirley and Steve Guy, David and Anette Dahl, Don and Susan Dahl, and Jolene Dahl.
He has 20 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.
