Born June 7, 1920, in Wellsville, to John and Hazel Kerr, she learned hard work early in life growing up on a farm. She milked cows, worked in the hay field and walked 1 1/2 miles to town twice daily.
She married Bob Price, her companion for 62 years. They had four children: Dwon Morrison, Downey, Idaho; Dale and Tressia, Three Forks, Mont.; Sid Price, Helena, Mont., and Jean Butler, Salt Lake City. She has 15 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
They lived in Wellsville for 13 years before buying a farm in Downey, Idaho. She was a member of the Downey Study Club when the club began the town library. She was named Idaho Mother of the Year. In 1955, they bought a farm in Montana and farmed for 34 years. She drove a truck during the Montana harvest. After purchasing semis, she drove two semi-trucks piggy back from Detroit.
She and her husband enjoyed traveling by airplane, motor home and on their boat. After harvest they wintered in Arizona and Mexico. She spent the next 10 years caring for him after his stroke, living in Arizona and Fruit Heights. Fruit Heights has been her home for five years.
Her favorite hobby is embroidery. She enjoyed giving all of her granddaughters and great-granddaughters a set of dish towels with her personal touch. She is known for her clean windows, and pineapple cream and pumpkin pies.
