ROY — Residents of a 12-unit apartment building shed many tears Monday evening as they watched their homes go up in flames.

The two-alarm blaze at the Herfordshire Apartments, 4642 S. 1900 West, was reported by Roy Police Sgt. Danny Hammon as starting at 4:14 p.m.

An early Wednesday fire at Versailles Apartments in Ogden caused about $25,000 in damage and forced the evacuation of 24 units. All but the tenants of two apartments have been allowed to return. LAYTON -- Two developers working on apartment complexes will have to wait a few more weeks for their rezone requests to be approved by the city council.
