Four thieves who hit Weber cities 'trailer-dwelling doper lowlifes,' sheriff's officer says

OGDEN — Police arrested over the weekend, a group of thieves made its way through the northwest area of Weber County.

The thieves never did anything dangerous. They just tried car doors, opening the unlocked ones and snatching items from the front seat.

After following up on a warrant, Weber County sheriff’s deputies and Ogden police arrested at least four people they say were involved in the group responsible for a rash of vehicle burglaries and identity thefts Friday and Saturday.

10 in Top of Utah arrested during national immigration roundup

OGDEN — Ten people in Weber, Davis and Box Elder counties were arrested last week as part of a nationwide roundup of convicted criminal immigrants, immigration fugitives and immigration violators.

Operation Cross Check resulted in more than 3,100 arrests nationwide, including 54 in Utah, according to information released Monday by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

Three Ogden Trece members arrested for violating gang injunction

OGDEN — After being stopped for a traffic offense, three Ogden Trece members have been arrested for violating a gang injunction.

The stop occurred at 12:05 a.m. Friday in the 1500 block of Washington Boulevard, said Police Lt. Scott Conley.

OGDEN — Three suspects are in custody and another remains at large following a Thursday morning burglary and an ensuing police manhunt.

At 7:40 a.m., a witness observed four males removing items from a home in the area of 200 Ogden Canyon Road and placing them into a green Jeep Cherokee, said Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Mark Lowther.

The dog, which he and his wife, Joanne, have named Buster, was recently found abandoned ainside a foreclosed home in North Ogden. The dog received donated grooming services from The Little Dog House to clean it up. Strike force nabs 2 meth suspects near Marriott-Slaterville

MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE — Weber-Morgan Narcotics Strike Force arrested two men on suspicion of bringing a pound and a half of methamphetamine into Ogden to sell.

Police say James Jerry Moncada caused this damage while fleeing police Thursday in Ogden. An officer believed he recognized the driver of an SUV and attempted to pull over the vehicle. However, the driver did not stop and drove south down an alley that runs from 28th Street to 29th Street, between Brinker Avenue and Harrison Boulevard. The SUV smashed through a fence about halfway down the alley, drove through the southeast corner of a backyard, smashed through a second wooden fence and wound up in the backyard of a home that is south of the first. OGDEN -- Police arrested a man after he led them on a chase through an Ogden neighborhood Thursday night.

Hundreds arrested at Occupy protests in LA, Philly

LOS ANGELES -- More than 1,400 police officers, some in riot gear, cleared the Occupy Los Angeles camp early Wednesday, driving protesters from a park around City Hall and arresting more than 200 who defied orders to leave. Similar raids in Philadelphia led to 52 arrests, but the scene in both cities was relatively peaceful.
