Drought behind mass aspen die-off

SALT LAKE CITY -- Researchers say they've discovered the probable cause behind a mass die-off of aspen trees in the West during the past decade.

Ancient aspen grove in central Utah slowly dying

LOA -- The U.S. Forest Service is trying to save one of the world's largest and oldest organisms, a 106-acre aspen thicket being threatened by pests, wildlife and climate change on a mountain slope in central Utah.
