BOUNTIFUL — A man is in the hospital after police say he was assaulted by his wife and her boyfriend early this morning on a Bountiful hillside.
Chelsie Weber, 24, was booked into the Davis County Jail on suspicion of assault, disorderly conduct, intoxication, interfering with an arresting officer, assault by a prisoner, and damaging a jail. Javier Hernandez, who police identified as Weber’s boyfriend, was booked into the jail on suspicion of assault.
Davis County Sheriff’s Sgt. Susan Poulson said they received a call from a local hospital about a man who came to the facility after being assaulted just before 2 a.m. this morning.
Poulson said the man had been near the letter ‘B’ that is painted on a Bountiful hillside when Weber and Hernandez beat him up.
“I don’t know the circumstances, but it was a pretty violent assault,” Poulson said.
Poulson said they aren’t sure of the details of the relationship between the three yet, or why they had decided to meet at that location. She did say phone conversations between Weber and her husband somehow escalated to the meeting between the three.
No information about the injured husband was available as of 9 a.m. Poulson said he was admitted to the hospital but was not in critical condition.
After police found and arrested Weber and Hernandez, Poulson said Weber slipped out of her handcuffs in the patrol car, damaged an officer’s computer and assaulted the officer.
“The window in the cage was unlocked,” Poulson said. “She slipped through and damaged his computer. She busted it up pretty good.”
The officer was not seriously injured by Weber’s attack.
