West Point man accused of assaulting father with cereal bowl, milk jug

WEST POINT — A 22-year-old West Point man ended up in jail Thursday after throwing a cereal bowl and jug of milk at his father.

Bart McKinley Neely appeared in 2nd District Court on Friday, charged with third-degree possession of a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia, assault and criminal mischief, all class B misdemeanors. A felony arraignment hearing is set for April 12.

Ott appears in court, gets new hearing date

FARMINGTON -- Mark Anthony Ott's attorneys have filed a motion to withdraw all of his guilty pleas dealing with a fire that burned his ex-wife's home, the stabbings of her friend and daughter, and the death of 6-year-old Lacey Paige Lawrence.

Ott appeared in 2nd District Court on Monday with his attorneys, Elizabeth Hunt and Rich Gallegos. Before the hearing, his attorneys, along with Davis County Attorney Troy Rawlings met with Judge Michael G. Allphin in his chambers for about 15 minutes.

Ogden man booked into jail on suspicion of kidnapping, assault

OGDEN -- An Ogden man remained in Weber County Jail on Tuesday after police say he assaulted, handcuffed and held another man captive for six hours.

Gary Alan Rushing, 28, has been booked into jail on suspicion of aggravated kidnapping, assault and never obtaining a driver's license.

Rushing's bond has been set at $20,000. He will have a video arraignment on the charges today.

Ott wants all of his guilty pleas withdrawn

FARMINGTON -- The parents of 6-year-old Lacey Paige Lawrence were visibly upset outside of the courtroom Wednesday after Mark Anthony Ott requested to withdraw all of his guilty pleas to charges, including murder, in connection with the first-grader's death.

"I don't think this is quite right," said Terri Cook, Lacey's mother.

"He is taking zero accountability for what he did," said Allen Lawrence, Lacey's father.

OGDEN -- A suspect who ran from a traffic stop after an officer pulled him over for failure to signal was caught and charged with drug offenses.

During the traffic stop at 10:57 p.m. Thursday, Brandon David Grissett, 37, had an altercation with the officer, Ogden Police Lt. Danielle Croyle said.

Grissett got out of his car and ran into a nearby apartment complex at 25th Street and Monroe Boulevard.
