KAYSVILLE —Two accidents on Interstate 15 late Wednesday kept troopers busy and traffic backed up for hours.

OGDEN — In response to two high-profile auto-pedestrian accidents in the past month, Ogden officials and the city council have sent a formal letter to the Utah Department of Transportation reiterating their concern about the accidents and asking for the state’s prompt action in addressing them.

UHP patrol car wrecks piling up

The record number of Utah Highway Patrol vehicles involved in accidents this year has limited the resources troopers have at their disposal.

Sixteen troopers have been involved in accidents this year, compared to 12 in all of last year, UHP Cpl. Todd Johnson said.

Heavy snowfall likely to impact Monday morning commute

Heavy snowfall across the Top of Utah sent motorists skidding Sunday evening, briefly closing Sardine Canyon and dropping almost 4 inches of snow on Layton in an hour.

The National Weather Service was projecting as much as 8 inches of snowfall through the night, likely continuing to impact the Monday morning commute.

Freezing rain across N. Utah wreaks havoc on roads, sidewalks

OGDEN — Freezing rain conditions “rare” to the area during the Thursday morning commute had emergency personnel responding to numerous accidents, and snowplows out spreading sand on slick roads.

Davis County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers reported emergency personnel responding to more than 30 traffic accidents Thursday morning.

There was no report of any serious injuries, but there was a lot of “fender banging” going on, one dispatcher reported.

Rare freezing rain creates icy roads, 'fender banging' commute

OGDEN — Freezing rain conditions “rare” to the area during the Thursday morning commute had emergency personnel responding to numerous accidents, and snowplows out spreading sand on slick roads.

N. Utah fog creating dangerous icy road conditions

BOUNTIFUL — Morning commuters are being asked to slow down to avoid crashes like what occurred Tuesday.

Utah Highway Patrol Cpl. Todd Johnson said that, within minutes Tuesday morning, three accidents occurred around 100 North on Interstate 15. Three people were transported to local hospitals with non life-threatening injuries. The first accident was reported at 6:46 a.m.

Top of Utah slide-offs sure as the driven snow

Dispatchers along the Wasatch Front kept busy Wednesday as a snowstorm hit just in time for the commute.

Weber County dispatchers reported they had at least a dozen fender-benders or vehicles sliding off the road during the morning commute, with most of the accidents occurring on the auxiliary streets.

Dispatchers said there were a few more accidents as the day progressed, but no one was seriously injured.

Truck overturns on Hinckley Drive in Ogden

OGDEN — A laundry service truck overturned at Hinckley Drive and Pennsylvania Avenue late Friday night.

The truck was westbound on Hinckley Drive and appeared to have hit a traffic light pole.
