"Frozen Planet" -- There's no better way to chill out in front of the TV than with this breathtaking seven-part documentary series that provides an up-close-and-intimate view of wildlife in the Arctic and Antarctic. A follow-up to the international nature hits "Planet Earth" (2006) and "Life" (2009), "Frozen Planet" was filmed over four years by camera crews who meticulously captured hours of spectacular footage amid icy terrain. Big 'Loser' returns to Top of Utah

She may have lost in one aspect, but it has been a major gain in other areas of her life.

Sarah Nitta, who is originally from Bountiful, lost 106 pounds on the reality TV show "The Biggest Loser" during its 11th season, which aired in 2011.

Nitta, 28, now lives in St. George and works at The Biggest Loser resort in Ivins.

She will speak about preventive health and tell her story of weight loss at 9:30 a.m., 10:30 a.m., and 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the Roy City Recreation Department. The event is free to the public.

SALT LAKE CITY -- Think you could be the next Biggest Loser?

Casting directors and former contestants of the popular TV reality show will hold open casting interviews from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 13 at KSL 5 TV, 55 N. 300 West. They are casting single contestants and teams of two.

Bountiful's Hill is at-home Biggest Loser

The finale of "The Biggest Loser: Couples" season concluded Tuesday night with a Bountiful woman, Denise "Deni" Hill, taking the $100,000 prize for the at-home biggest loser.

The award went to the eliminated contestant who lost the most weight before the finale.

The 59-year-old Hill went from a starting weight of 256 pounds to 131 pounds in five months.

'Losers' can still 'win'

This season of NBC's "The Biggest Loser: Couples" had Northern Utah well-represented.

It all started with an Olympic hero, Rulon Gardner, who gained national attention and then made more waves when he quit. Add a natural-born captain and a mother/daughter team from Bountiful, and throw in a surprise duo from Ogden in the middle of the season.

The season, which began as a team competition, ends tonight at 7 p.m. on KSL Channel 5.

Gardner bows out of 'Biggest Loser'

The final Utah contestant was eliminated from NBC's "The Biggest Loser: Couples" when Rulon Gardner left the competition.

Gardner was thought to be a frontrunner to win this season. Still, he announced at the weigh-in portion of the show that he was leaving for "personal reasons."

The Olympic gold medalist from the 2002 Sydney Games and Logan resident had lost a total of 173 pounds during the show's run.

Utah's Justin Pope voted off 'Biggest Loser'

Justin Pope, from Logan, was eliminated from NBC's "The Biggest Loser: Couples" on Tuesday night. He asked to be voted off to save teammate Courtney Crozier from elimination.

Pope entered the show with an initial weigh-in of 365 pounds. NBC aired an update that he is now at 225 pounds. He still has a chance to win $100,000 that is given to the eliminated contestant with the most weight loss by the May 24 finale.

He entered the competition with his friend Rulon Gardner, Olympic gold medalist wrestler from the 2000 Sydney Games.

Bountiful woman takes dive for her daughter on 'Biggest Loser'

Denise “Deni” Hill put being a parent over the competition and was eliminated during Tuesday night’s episode of “The Biggest Loser: Couples.”

The episode featured news that two contestants were to be eliminated. The first person eliminated was the one who lost the least amount of weight that week.
