She was born Dec. 31, 1932, in Helper to Leonard R. and Dora A. Thayn. She attended Carbon High School.

She married Ferrall R. Johnson on Dec. 31, 1971, in Elko, Nev.

Tony Brown, son of William C. and Jennie D. Brown, celebrated his 90th birthday with many of his extended family members at home in Holladay on New Year's Day.

He was born Jan. 2, 1922, in Brigham City and grew up in Ogden. He married Marione M. White (later divorced). He then married Dorothy M. "Dottie" Putnam (deceased).

He married his high school sweetheart, Eloise Brostrom, and enjoyed 40 years of marriage before she died.

The 12th of 13 children, she was born on Jan. 30, 1932, in Marian, Idaho, to Pearl and John O. McArthur.

She married Leroy Blake in 1951. He died in 1978.

She was born on Jan. 23, 1922, in Malad, Idaho, to Matilda M. and Niels A. Pearson. She grew up in Ogden and Salt Lake City and graduated from East High School in 1940.

LuJeanne Barnett Peters of Clinton celebrated her 80th birthday with her family.

She was born Jan. 14, 1932, in Ogden to Andrew L. and Genevieve Barnett. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School in 1949.

On Aug. 2, 1950, she married Robert J. Peters in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. He died in 1989.

Charles T. "Izzy" Sullivan Jr. of Clinton celebrated his 80th birthday with relatives at Marie Callender's in Layton on Jan. 10.

The first of twin boys, eight minutes older than his twin John E. Sullivan (deceased), he was born on Jan. 10, 1932, in Casper, Wyo., to Charles T. Sullivan Sr. and Marie Elizabeth Gerber Sullivan. He also has two sisters and a younger brother: Rita Galles, Alice Swinsen (deceased), and George B. Sullivan (deceased). He attended St. Anthony's Parochial School and Natrona County High School.

Mildred Marie Fowler LaFeber of Ogden will celebrate her 90th birthday. She was honored at a family party on Saturday, Jan. 7.

She was born Jan. 9, 1922, in Ogden to John E. Fowler and Margret Ann Gray. She attended Ogden schools and graduated from Ogden High School. She worked at the old Thomas Dee Memorial Hospital. During World War II, she worked at the arsenal.

Earl Riggs celebrated his 80th birthday on Dec. 28 with a dinner held in his honor at the Ramblin Roads Family Restaurant in Clearfield. He was also honored by his children with a program. In attendance were a total of 43 children, grandchildren, and brothers and sisters.

He was born Dec. 26, 1931. He and his wife, Maxine Riggs, have lived in Clearfield for 47 years.

Horace E. "Ed" Crowell Jr. of West Haven celebrated his 80th birthday with a family gathering on Dec. 29.

The oldest of five children, he was born on Jan. 1, 1932, two minutes after midnight to Horace E. Crowell Sr. and Mabel Wahlen Crowell in Stoneham, Mass.

He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1950 and served during the Korean conflict.

Elsie B. Fuhriman of Ogden will celebrate her 95 birthday with family and friends at Chuck-A-Rama in Ogden.

She was born Jan. 3, 1917, in Providence to Elsa and Ernest Beckert.

She married Keith Fuhriman on July 29, 1936, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Logan Temple. He died Sept. 12, 1975.

Deon Cox Anderson of Sunset will celebrate her 80th birthday on Dec. 29. Family and friends may attend an open house in her honor from 6 to 8 p.m. Dec. 29 at The Sunset Room, 200 W. 1300 North, Sunset.

Born on Dec. 29, 1931, to Ervin and Nola Cox, she was born and raised in Hooper. She graduated from Weber High School, served an LDS mission to the eastern states, and later to Samoa with her husband.
