Lynn B. Judkins will celebrate his 90th birthday March 1. Well wishes may be sent to his home. Visitors are welcome anytime.

Born to Sarah Blanch and Parley Barrett Judkins in Ogden, he was educated in Weber County School District and attended Murray High School. He attended Utah State University for two years SEmD one in cadet training.

He married MaryBelle Simmons Nov. 26, 1940, in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple. They raised their family in West Layton and shared 60 years together. She died in 2000.

His children are Val (deceased) and Kerry Judkins, Clint and Tamara Judkins, MaeJae and Rick Storrs, and Billy (deceased) and Terri Sue Judkins.

He has 17 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

He served as a B-17 bomber pilot during World War II, flying 29 missions over Europe. He made his career at Hill Air Force Base and has been retired for more than 20 years.

An active member of the LDS Church, he has served in many callings. He is one of the longest surviving original members of the West Layton and later Layton 2nd Ward. Active in the Evans Meadows Ward, he still leads the music each Sunday in priesthood meeting. After his retirement, he and his wife served a mission in Arizona.

He enjoys life at home in the West Gentile house and property that he and his wife built as newlyweds, visiting the horses out in the pasture, puttering around the garage, visits from friends, family and his helpers, gatherings and luncheons with friends and his sisters and attending church.
