Dallas Barnes Olsen Allen

Dallas Barnes Olsen Allenof Roy will be honored for her 80th birthday by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Friends and family may attend an open house from 4 to 6 p.m. on Saturday, June 12, at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Roy 8th Ward chapel, 5930 S. 2200 West.

She was born on June 16, 1930, in Roy, a daughter of Edward and Evenlyn Barnes. She graduated from Weber High School. She met her husband, O. Don Olsen, at a dance at the Berthana Ballroom in Ogden. They were married on Nov. 21, 1951, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died on Feb. 16, 1995. She then married Richard Allen in Nevada in November 1995. He died on March 16, 2006.

She has held many church callings: Young Women, Primary and as a visiting teacher. She worked at Swift & Co., Macey's Stop & Shop and Max Factor. After retiring, she and her husband spent the winter months as snowbirds. She enjoys spending time with friends and family, going to movies and eating out.

Her children are Tom Olsen of Roy; Dennis and Cheryl Olsen of Tucson, Ariz.; David and Bonnie Olsen of Roy; Diane Higley of Roy; and a special friend Carol Hasratian. She has eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and one grandson, who is deceased.
