Floyd Stagge of Plain City celebrated his 80th birthday on Aug. 21 with a family party at the home of his daughter.
The youngest son of Louis and Lura Stagge, he was born on Aug. 21, 1930, in Ogden. He graduated from Ogden High School. On June 27, 1953, he married his sweetheart Anna Myrle England. In 1956, they moved to Plain City, where they raised their three children: Michelle and Rick Peterson, Denise and Bob Roman, and Darren Stagge. His wife died in 1998.
He retired from the Union Pacific Railroad in 1992 after working there for 42 years. He feels he made many great friends at the railroad. He and his wife bowled for many years on a railroad bowling league. He says he has many fond memories of the league and the tournament trip with his buddies.
He can be found any morning at Wangsgards or Boones, drinking coffee and laughing with his friends.
He enjoys his dog, trips to Wendover and spending time with his seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
