Clarence A. "Butch" Crater

Clarence A. "Butch" Crater of Ogden will celebrate his 90th birthday with a family gathering on Monday.

He was born on Sept. 7, 1920, to Elmer Dennis Crater and Goldie Myers Crater in Royalton, Pa.

He married Jean Evans Crater on Nov. 11, 1942. This year, they will be together for 68 years.

He served honorably during World War II in the U.S. Army Air Corps.

He is a Master Mason, 32nd degree Scottish Rite, a member of the Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Shrine.

He enjoys reading and has traveled with his wife to all 50 states, collecting cups from them all.

He has two children: John and Barbara Crater, and Sarah and Bruce Schwab.

He also has five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
