Delbert Earl "Bert" Rhees

Delbert Earl "Bert" Rhees of Hooper celebrated his 80th birthday with family and friend at his home on Sept. 4.

He was born on Sept. 12, 1930, in Ogden to Earl and Ruth Rhees of Pleasant View. He graduated from Weber High School and received further education in law. He served in the U.S. Navy submarine service.

He was married to Ovie Hutchison, who died in 1996. He then married Marilyn W. Friedli on July 20, 1996. Between them, there are nine sets of married children and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He served an LDS mission to Brazil and also an LDS mission in Wyoming (Sixth Crossing) with his wife Marilyn. He has served in many LDS Church callings, and at the present time is serving as stake patriarch in the Roy Midland LDS Stake.
