Frank Branch Carruth of Ogden will celebrate his 90th birthday. Family and friends may attend an open house in his honor from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6, at his residence.
He was born on July 6, 1921, in Coalville to John Ellwood and Eliza Jane Branch Carruth. After graduating from Ogden High School, he attended Weber State College. He served in the European Theater during World War II and retired from the postal service in 1976 after 35 years of service.
He married Mary Roskelley in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Salt Lake Temple on Oct. 8, 1947.
As a member of the LDS Church, he has served in many callings. He also served for 30 years as an officiator in the Ogden LDS Temple and is a member of the Sons of the Utah Pioneers.
His children and their spouses are John and Susan Carruth, San Jose, Calif.; Barbara and Gene Aaberg, North Ogden; Laura and Randy Browne, Ogden; and Kelley and Garth Martin, Harrisville.
He enjoys Sunday evening get-togethers with his family.
He has 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren with two more on the way.
