FARMINGTON — City leaders will be true to their word in paying off a $1.9 million bond used to build a new road within three years. The bond helped the city finance building Station Park Way.

City Manager Dave Millheim recently outlined plans to pay off a 2009 bond package, just three years after the city bonded to build what was then dubbed as the “road to the north,” linking Station Park and Park Lane Village to the rest of the city.

The early payoff is due to a $1,768,754 payment the city received from CenterCal, which is developing Station Park.

The council unanimously voted to halt all work on the project, pay all outstanding debts to architects and contractors, and return a $600,000 bond. The council has already spent $95,200 for the project.

NORTH OGDEN -- Residents won't be voting next month on whether they want the city to bond to build a new public works complex and may have to wait as long as two years for their voices to be heard.

Late last week, the city received a petition with nearly 3,000 signatures verified by the county, but when officials looked at the next several steps to complete the election process, they found it wouldn't work.
