Scientists were called in to investigate bones found during the digging of a new railway in central London, after uncovered 13 skeletons were found. The skeletons will be tested to see if they died from the Black Death plague which killed between 30 and 60 percent of the European population in the 14th century, and scientist hope to map the DNA signature of the plague bacteria. Bury Josh Powell near sons? 'Unthinkable,' family attorney says

Josh Powell's family members want him buried in a Washington state cemetery just a few strides from his two sons, the same boys that he chopped with an ax before killing them and himself in a fiery explosion more than a week ago.

But an attorney for the boys' maternal grandparents says she will stop at nothing to ensure that the plan isn't carried out.

Group moves to prevent Josh Powell from being buried near sons

SEATTLE -- CrimeStoppers of Tacoma-Pierce County has purchased the cemetery plots on either side of the gravesite of Charlie and Braden Powell to ensure that their father, Josh Powell, will not be buried next to them.

The move was in reaction to reports that Powell's family wants to have him buried near his sons, whom he killed in a gasoline-fueled fire on Feb. 5, said Pierce County sheriff's spokesman Sgt. Ed Troyer. The two boys were buried Saturday in a single gravesite at Woodbine Cemetery in Puyallup.

(SERGEY PONOMAREV/The Associated Press)In this Tuesday, Aug. 23, 2011 file photo, rebel fighters trample on a head of Moammar Gadhafi inside the main compound in Bab al-Aziziya in Tripoli, Libya. Misrata’s fighters emerged from weeks of punishing street fighting during the bloody siege of their hometown battle-hardened and instilled with a searing hatred for Moammar Gadhafi. In the end, they extracted their revenge, putting the dictator’s body and that of his son on display as a trophy. For Misratans, it was a fitting end to the civil war, and a clear signal that they are a force to be reckoned with in post-Gadhafi Libya.

Gadhafi buried in unmarked grave at dawn

MISRATA, Libya — Moammar Gadhafi was buried at dawn Tuesday in an unmarked grave in a modest Islamic ceremony, closing the book on his nearly 42-year rule of Libya and the eight-month civil war to oust him.

Burial rituals differ among religions

In Islam, the deceased are to be buried within 24 hours.

This was highlighted in media reports of the death of Osama bin Laden. And controversy arose over bin Laden's burial at sea.

Each major religion has customs concerning burial.
